Rhyming Vibes

अगर उज्जवल भविष्य के लिए वर्तमान का जागृत होना अनिवार्य है, तो जागृत वर्तमान के लिए अतीत का ज्ञान होना भी अनिवार्य है। भारतवर्ष का इतिहास और भारतीय सभ्यता चिरकाल से हमारा मार्गदर्शन करते आ रहे हैं।  इसी सन्दर्भ में प्रस्तुत है यह कविता, जो भारत के इतिहास और संस्कृति को याद करने की ओर प्रयासरत है। आशा है यह अपने उद्देश्य से न्याय कर पाएगी।  गाथा हिंदुस्तान की... धरती अम्बर चंदा तारे, हैं प्रत्यक्ष साक्षी सारे, हर पल हर क्षण कहें कहानी, भारत के उत्थान की। नदिया पर्वत माटी बोले, गाथा हिंदुस्तान की। दिशाएँ वेद ध्वनि से गूँजें, तेज बुद्ध का हृदय को सींचे, नानक  के  पैग़ाम से   प्रेरित, राहें गुरुओं   के   बलिदान   की। नदिया पर्वत माटी बोले, गाथा हिंदुस्तान की। इस मिट्टी की महिमा अनुपम, जन्मे जहाँ विद्वान प्रखरतम, रामनुजम ,  सुश्रुत ,  आर्यभट्ट , प्रेरणा सकल संसार की। नदिया पर्वत माटी बोले, गाथा हिंदुस्तान की। सेंध लगी जब भी सीमा पर, हुई प्रदर्शित विश्व पटल पर, अदम्य साहस और शूरता, रणजीत और चौहान की। नदिया पर्वत माटी बोले, गाथा हिंदुस्तान की। जब जन-गण ने संघर्ष की ठानी, तब हुई रगों में लहर र

If ‘change’ is the law of nature, then ‘resisting’ that change is human nature. There are two kinds of changes that human beings experience through their life span.  The first one are the physiological changes, that are non-modifiable, and occur due to the process of physical growth and ageing. The other kind are the psychological changes which are modifiable and happen to be equally dynamic, yet more democratic ones. Democratic because human beings can pick and choose these changes depending on their circumstances and convenience, but against a very intricate counterbalance maintained by the social and egoistic norms of life. Many of these changes are the ones that we unintentionally (or sometimes unwillingly) fall for, while there are many that we keep resisting (and often sacrificing) in order to maintain the equilibrium of societal norms.  This poem is an introspection of those intricacies of life that define the changes we resist and the changes we fall for in our lives and lifeti

   If adversity reveals the true character of a person, then traffic reveals the true character of a citizen. It’s on the road that the true virtues of a citizen are showcased. The way people abide/flout the rules, respect/disrespect each other’s comfort, convenience and safety speaks volumes about their sensitiv ities and sensibilities. That probably is the truest reflec tion of the maturity and morality of a society in general. One busy evening, while walking to my car after groceries, I found an SUV parked in the middle of a busy road under a fly-over. While there was a built up of traffic behind that car, the chauffeur was unperturbed with the distress calls sent by the horns of vehicles stuck up behind him.
