Punjabi Poem I ਮੇਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਮੇਰਾ ਦੇਸ਼...

Hello Rhymers, If Punjab is my birthplace, then whole India is my workplace. Punjabis have always been proud of and deeply connected with their culture and heritage, and yet they have been the torchbearers of Nationalism and National integration, as highlighted and vouched for by the annals of history.
The first poem I ever composed was a Punjabi poem that I wrote as an 11 years old for SAIKAPIAN (Annual magazine of Sainik School Kapurthala). The piece was a disaster, and deservingly, it was rejected for publication (yeah it was horrible). After these 30 years, it's flattering to write something meaningful. That's the reason I am tempted to share this poem with everyone.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਮੇਰਾ ਦੇਸ਼...

ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦਿਲ ਚੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕੇ,
ਆਵਣ-ਜਾਵਣ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ।
ਜਾਤ-ਪਾਤ, ਮਜ਼ਹਬ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਣ,
ਢਿਡ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ, ਤੇ ਨਿੱਮ ਦਾ ਰੁੱਖ ।

 ਵਿਰਸਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ,
ਨਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਵਸੀਤਾਂ ਦੀ ।
ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ,
ਦੇਣ ਬੁਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ, ਤੇ ਤੇਗ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੀ ।

ਪੈਸਾ, ਰੁਤਬਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ,
ਵੇ ਗੱਲ ਮਨ ਇਸ ਲਾਈ-ਲੱਗ ਦੀ ।
ਮੇਹਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਵੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ,
ਰਾਵੀ ਵਗਦੀ, ਤੇ ਅਣਖ ਇਸ ਪੱਗ ਦੀ ।

ਹਰੇ-ਭਰੇ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਮਹਿਕਦੇ,
ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿੰਡ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤ ।
ਦੋ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਨ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਰਾਂ,
ਇਕ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਤੇ ਇਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ।

Getting a taste of rich cultural heritage of Punjab, and the legacy of our Gurus and warriors has been a humbling, enriching, as well as an inspirational experience. It not only made me feel proud of this rich cultural legacy, but also inspired me to write something in Punjabi.

      What i meant was that you can post small 2-4 line poems or a stanza of your poems on twitter. Doing that on regular basis would help you grow your audience and help engage with them. I myself am not able to that since it requires posting on regular basis, and requires time. But if you want to do that, I would suggest you to talk to your parents first as social media is double edged, and one needs to be careful working on it. So, please do talk to your parents first. I would be happy to answer your further queries on this.
